Not a flame thread, just a simple question: Did Alleva have a $ cap imposed?

Would someone above him have imposed a cap on how much money he could spend or was it purely his discretion?

Given that King Alexander was intimately involved in the hiring process, I wouldn't be surprised.

The President would have the ultimate decision there. No way for anyone to know unless they were a part of that decision. I imagine he had a number.

Even though private TAF has money to burn and wants to win, this clown can cap them at the knees?

It's truly amazing that the CEOs of PJs Coffee, Red River Bank, and the New Orleans Travel Bureau had a deciding vote on LSU's next coach.

I think a random selection of 3 posters from this website could have produced better results.

TAF isn't who gets to make the final decision.

Look at what happened last year. Alleva and the TAF were close to reaching a deal with Jimbo.

King came along, saw how much money was being thrown around, and ended the entire process.

He's doing a great job of destroying LSU - not only athletically, but academically as well. I don't think there's a single Chancellor at LSU that actually supports him.

I firmly believe money played a part last year but imo the biggest reason he stepped in was because when it came time to close the deal Alleva was in over his head and needed a lifeline. We just saw the shitshow he produced when he had two months to conduct a search, imagine what a disaster it was behind the scenes last year when he was trying to pull off a Miles firing and a Jimbo hire at the same time.
