No one will touch this guy as a HC...

How long do you wait on Kiffin... really, is he getting any high school offers at HC ? Is he applying for every CF HC opening ? There are 2 or 3 great OC candidates available Kiffin is very good but don't make it like it's him or bust.

Exactly I don't know what is going on. We should have one in place by now frick kiffin there are other capable coordinators. We need to move on

It appears that Way. They are scared to get embarrassed and listening to too many folks about he is only tame because of Saban. It's why he has to come to LSU to prove he CAN be trusted away from Saban. I would have hired him as the HC at LSU. He is the next Spurrier. Two years of being disciplined and having great offense including solid performances against Bama. They will be knocking the door down.

Then O should actually announce him and let him recruit for us. Why would he have an OC and hide it?

Again, I'm not saying we have an OC, but if it is indeed Kiffin there are certainly reasons that it wouldn't be announced yet. Some reasons being contractually-related.
I have no idea if it's Kiffin or not, but all signs certainly point to that. And if you assume it's him, then it makes 100% sense why it hasn't been announced yet.

Just guessing, but he's under contract at Bama, so it wouldn't shock me if he's been told that he will be honoring his contract or face some severe consequences, contractually and otherwise.
I'm sure there's also motivation on his part to get another national title. Can't hurt the resume for down the road. Walking away from a potential national title for a lateral OC position would not look good based on what he did at Tennessee.
If it is Kiffin, he can't take the LSU OC job now AND coach in the title game for Bama,. That just wouldn't work, so to coach the playoff game(s) he can't announce anything until after. It's in Alabama and Kiffin's interests for it to all happen after the playoffs.

He's exhausted his HC escapades and none of that panned out for Kiffin. O and Kiffin agreed that he would look at HC opps.
My guess is due to contract and Kiffin wanting another title On his resume he could have a verbal agreement in place though nothing is announced.
Dead period approaching. No need to rush. O said the hire would be made after the bowl game.

Honestly I'm not too stressed about the LSU OC search... whether it's Kiffin or not, LSU is gonna get a top-flight OC on the $$$ alone.
While O may or may not have been the right move at HC (that's done and pointless in debating any longer) in my opinion it basically assured us of landing a top notch OC given the OC budget and O and Alleva both knowing they are required to make a "splash" at OC
LSU is sexy enough on name alone, then when you make it one of the Top5 If not Top OC salaries in the country, I'm sure there's no shortage of candidates wanting the position.
