Bottom line is recruiting, which they just don't have right now. Heck, Minnesota just hired a better coach than Nebraska has. They gotta be willing to open their pocketbooks and pay a big name. Scott Frost will likely be their next HC but he won't be able to recruit there either... unless he has an big breakout season like Fleck and Herman had and becomes a hot name.

what makes you think they will ever be able to replicate the teams they had in the 80's and 90's? Do you really think they hold a recruiting edge over teams that aren't in the middle of nowhere?

Looks like their top target is the same guy Arkansas is pursuing, a former HC at UConn. Not much of a splash

IDK much about him. Hearing conflicting reports regarding his abilities. Many UConn fans saying he had one good year at ND and that's it

It's a home run hire. Mike Riley is a mediocre coach but he made a great hire here.
