My opinion...Saban will only leave Bama for NFL job

I don't think there is any way Saban leaves Bama for Texas or any other college job.
He has got a perfect situation at Bama - he runs what is clearly the premier college football program and he has gotten them to the point that he doesn't really have to recruit, he just picks and chooses who he wants. He runs the program like he wants to with no interference from anyone.
Why would he want to leave that to start over at another school and do what he has already done before (twice)?
The only challenge left for him is the NFL. I think it still really bothers him that he wasn't successful as an NFL coach, even moreso since Harbaugh and Kelly have done very well so soon after leaving Stanford and Oregon.
But he wants to come into a better situation than he had with the Dolphins, and I think there are only a couple of NFL jobs he would take now.
If I were a Bama fan I don't think I would be worried about the Texas job, but if Tomlin goes to Texas after Nick turns them down(some are saying he is on the short list) or the Giants get rid of Coughlin after the season is over I would start to get really worried. I think those two jobs would be pretty desirable - great ownership at both and both are already pretty solid football teams.
His NFL window is closing pretty quickly, so I think it is close to now or never for him.
Just my $.02

You have no idea what you're talking about but thanks for the change.

CapstoneGrad04 saw Saban last spring and says you're incorrect.

Which to me is fine and dandy as kinda a longhorn fan.
Mack needs to go. Then you ask the best guy out there if he wants to come until he says no. Saban hasn't said no yet so you keep asking.
If he does say no you move on to the next best guy.
But with out a doubt whether Saban comes or not you have to let Mack go first. It's time. He has lost the fan base, gotten his friend fired, and has been fixing it for five years.
Everybody acts like the nfl is so great but I think Nick is over it. Why give up complete control to go coach guys who make money then you. Saban doesn't feel good without respect and the nfl does not give coaches that much compared to the players.

The challenge and fun for guys like Saban is building, not maintaining. He's done everything he can do in Bama, it's time to see if he really can do it again somewhere else.

OK scoff all you want, time will tell...

FWIW, I think Pittsburgh would be worst possible NFL fit for Saban. They have a system there of offense, defense, and drafting which they stay loyal to and hire to fit. Saban would have too little control at Pittsburgh for that job to interest him, plus Pittsburgh would lack intrest for the same reasons. They aren't changing.

The NFL ain't happening. Saban has been consistently turning down NFL offers ever since he left.

People forget that Gene Stallings was a sub .500 NFL coach because he left Alabama while on top. Do you think CNS would risk his reputation as one of the great college coaches of all time by possibly having his career end as a failing nfl coach?
I don't claim to know CNS but I don't see the reward being anywhere near equal to the risk in this situation. People act like success in the nfl will be a guarantee for him when it I most assuredly not.

Heard the bums in Atlanta are looking for a new coach. Maybe he can go there and wreck that franchise even further.

Well, everyone says he likes a challenge. IMO rebuilding Texas wouldn't be much of a challenge for him - he's already done that twice. The only mountain he hasn't climbed is the NFL.
I think the fact that Harbaugh and Kelly have done it makes it harder for him to accept that fact that he hasn't done it.

Thanks for your opinion. I can now breathe a sigh of relief and carry on with my day, content with the knowledge that I have been privileged to read your thoughts.

until...
and the world took notice...
President's had to tell Bama players to keep their chin up
even celebrities you didn't know watched football watched the game
But Saban at least has Harvey
I agree the NFL would probably be the place for him but at the same time the NFL laughs at him.

Saban to NFL is crazy. He can't yell at his players like he can in college. When he went to Miami he also brought a lot of student trainers part time to Miami. When those kids cam back to LSU they would laugh at the stories of the athletes while they were in the training room. They said the athletes would come in to get treatment in the training room and call their agents and try to get the hell out of there.
The Longhorn Network ownership is more appealing. Think about it. He saw the big deal that the SEC got with ESPN. He wants a deal to the Longhorn net work to get by maybe Fox? or ABC? THEN ITS MAJOR MILLIONS!
