My guess/speculation/prediction on next HC.

Like I have said, I know nothing. I don't even know anybody who knows anything.
But, I suspect that sometime between Monday, 11/28 and Friday, 12/2 LSU will hold a presser introducing the next HC. (I'd put the probability of that happening at 90+%.)
And, I suspect that HC will be Jimbo Fisher.
Just based on gut feeling, a hunch, or maybe a bad burrito at Taco Bell, I'm thinking: 60% chance it is Jimbo, 35% chance it is Herman, 5% chance it is someone else.
LSU, FSU and Houston all end their regular season by 11/26. None are going to a conference championship game. Everyone will want to make it very public who the next coach is so he can start recruiting and making decisions about how the bowl game will be handled.
Gonna be a long two weeks for y'all. Hang in there. If I'm right, then it's gonna be an interesting December for us Noles.

I agree with you.
And I still think you know something but you're playing it off. I'm on to you.

Are the Noles happy or sad to see Jimbo gone??

If this happens, where does FSU go?

Jimbo Fisher's the guy, and I originally expected it to be announced the first week of December; however, I have recently heard the deal will likely be delayed until early January as his buyout drops significantly in 2017 (from $5 million to $3 million on Jan. 1).

If Jimbo came here, would you guys consider Ed Orgeron? It's a serious question.

Would that $2 mil be worth losing essentially a month of recruiting?

I was thinking the same thing. If Jimbo wants to do it then LSU needs to go ahead and pay the extra 2 million to help with recruiting.

No. Also, Cam Akers is an early enrollee and will likely commit to LSU if Jimbo is named HC. He, like LF7, is a program altering recruit.?
They will announce the first week of December (unless they tell Akers and Wilson through back channels it will happen after New Years).

Yeah i can't see this at all. I mean, $2M is a lot, but if you miss out on 8-10 guys because of it you could mess up the next 3 years POTENTIALLY.

No way they could wait

Exactly. The answer is no. LSU would gladly pay that to get the new coach on the road.

Ultimately, that's a question for Joe and the board; however, I expect recruits will already know what's going on and I'm sure there will be major back-channeling.

Second time I've seen this suggested. Do people actually believe Jimbo would come in and coach the bowl game? I don't see that happening.
Posted on 11/14/16 at 3:45 pm to jbraua
If that happens, who coaches the bowl games for each team?
Posted on 11/14/16 at 3:45 pm to jlnoles79
That'd be a potential mess, not to mention you could lose Jimbo again before January with all the drama and political hangers-on in this state. Eat the $2M and get it done.

the overwhelming majority of us will be sad to see him go. He is an outstanding coach. But, he has done what few could do - follow a legend and actually rebuild the program. We should be fine. there will be plenty of choices. Just have to make the right one.
