Another reality that must be taken into consideration...
O walking into his situation at LSU is not the same as Pittman walking into his situation at Arkansas.
To compare the hiring of Pittman to the hiring of O is unfair to Pittman in that very real context.
I’m not going to dog Arkansas; they are a fine program and an SEC school. However, I think it’s fair to say that it is harder to be successful at Arkansas than LSU and the current situation at Arkansas is much worse than the situation that existed at LSU when O was named HC.

Matt Luke sucks, Pittman doesn’t. Big difference. Pittman is an elite recruiter, Luke isn’t.

He had the online playing well, wasn't much talent left behind after he left, on paper recruited very well but high percentage of these 4*s were busts after he left.

Newsflash! We don't really give a frick if other fan bases like this hire or not. You guys were ready to shite on whomever we hired.
Bottom line is this was the best guy we could hire and Pittman will fix our OL issues and toughen our team back up.
Bert was an expensive flop. Chad was the worst hire we've ever made. Auburn spent a fortune retaining Gus to grab 9 wins while the Aggies are paying Jimbo Fisher $7.5MM per season to get them 7 wins. I'm not going to melt about this one.
Bottom line is this was the best guy we could hire and Pittman will fix our OL issues and toughen our team back up.

Call it what you want; but it’s the same exact type of hire that LSU made 3 years ago. We only laugh now, b/c in hindsight, O was a good hire that has seemed to work out.
All 4 teams in playoffs have a HC that started as interim from in-house, 2 of them were never coordinators.

Fans are idiots. Anytime something is new with a fan base, a player, a coach, etc., it’s most of the time the greatest thing ever. Then the newness wears off and it’s life as normal. We did the same with Moorhead. No one knows if Pittman, Kiffin, Drinkwitz, etc. are going to suck or succeed. Let them have their fun.

Yeah, the starting point for Pittman is terrible. But he's a good recruiter and that's what they need to even start getting out of their hole. Second thing is, splurge for the best DC and OC they can find country wide. You don't back the truck up for Gus, you back the truck up to get Lashlee to come back.
