...turned down Michigan.

Les should get out while the getting's good and go back to his alma mater.

It's been a fun ride, Les, but LSU fans are never, EVER going to accept you unless you reel off 10 wins in a row against Bama. At LSU, you'll forever be compared to Saban. You had a good run of grass chewing, 4th down heroics and Substi-rooskies. But even you know you can't sustain the kind of year-in, year-out success LSU fans demand.

Go to Michigan. The timing couldn't be better for you. You'll never get a better chance to get the hell out of Dodge.

It's funny that everyone on here seems to think Les would even be offered the job.

It's already Hoke, and Miles was never even considered for the UM job. That tells you everything you need to know about Les, and how people truly view him as a coach.

A true "Michigan man", multiple 10+ win seasons in the toughest conference in America, a National Title, a strong recruiter, and yet Michigan has selected a guy with only a few winning seasons at non-AQ schools, who didn't even play at Michigan. What does THAT tell you?

That's the irony.

No LSU coach has been more successful in terms of sustained multi-year winning percentage and bowl wins than Miles.

But our fans grade our coaches based on our program's potential to be "super elite" rather than the historical performance of our program. Our fans act like 2002-2007 is the norm for LSU and the new status quo for the next 100 years. Whereas people like me who remember the 80s and 90s are quite happy with 8, 9 or 10 wins and a damn strong football team that never quits and could beat any team on our schedule and often do.

But LSU fans will never appreciate what they currently have until we hit rock bottom again. Not unlike people who bought houses at ridiculous prices because they just assumed prices wouldn't ever fall... just human nature, I guess.

And if Miles is smart, he'll recognize his stock at LSU peaked in 2007 and he'll never match it. Dude needs to cash out and move on.

No way, dude. Mett is going to take us the title game just like Cammy Cam Juice did this year.

If Les leaves, he would likely want to take Wilson with him, and if not, LSU would have to hire a head coach VERY fast to try and retain Wilson as EVERY college would be trying to get their hands on him
