Miles Really Wanted the Michigan Job

You would think that he would be honest with Chavis and tell him if he was not going to Michigan.
It appears to me that Miles knew he was not the first choice as reported by media and that Hackett had informed him that Harbaugh was keen to the idea of returning to Ann Arbor.
Looks like Les was just waiting for the final word and hopefully for him , finally get offered the job at his beloved Michigan. Not gonna happen.
I sincerely believe that Miles would have taken the job if offered. The statements of denial he made were required because he was recruiting at the time.
The fact that Chavis has not signed his contract is either because he is not sure Les is going to stay at LSU or because he plans to retire after next year, which he hinted some time ago.

Have you ever started a thread on the OT or Money Board requesting help on how to go about negotiating a pay raise? It blows my mind how many people have no idea about the art of negotiation. The price of DC has gone up. Chavis' contract is up. Holy shite, he's using a job opening as leverage to earn his full potential. fricking science.

Chavis sees the writing on the wall.

Wow look at all the assumption being reported.

I know John Chavis. I do not think it is about money with him. I think he has enough money and retirement from TN and LSU to be comfortable for the rest of his life.
HIs family is home in Tennessee and I think the tug on him is to stay at LSU where he loves coaching or hang it up after next year. Chavis is still close with Philip Fulmer who misses coaching every day. so that plays into it.
I think Chavis stays at LSU if Miles stays at LSU. He is not going to TA&M.
Besides, that defense next year will be something else!

And Harbaugh really wants to go to the Jets...
Seems to me the only thing really wanted on this thread is for you to get some kind of attention. Goal achieved.

So, did you actually talk to Miles or did you just imagine all of this and call it the truth?

How in the world could Michigan NOT hire Les Miles, the winningest coach in LSU history and one of the most desired coaches in the world, and hire a guy who has never coached a college team to a National Championship????
HOW???
HOW???

You obviously have never been involved in contact negotiations that includes large sums of money.

If Chavis goes, Miles will get to keep some of those victories he keeps giving the Chief late in the 4th quarter only to have Chief blow them.
