Brady Hoke may be a good choice, but he has only one winning season in seven, while Urban Meyer was prolific at the outset with both Bowling Green and especially Utah. He won a BCS bowl with Utah.

And yes, Bo did come from Miami of OH, but he won there.

I am not one who gets off bashing one conference over another, I just support the SEC (minus Bama),so don't take this as being SEC vs The Big Ten.But, I don't think that it is just a coincidence that the coordinators and assistants in the SEC are the highest paid staffs in the country, give or take a team here and there. I pay the price in my rising ticket costs, but: a school has to make the commitment to paying its coaches more to get the best results. From what I hear...hate to use the Detroit paper as a source...the pay of staff at UM was possibly an issue as well.

No reason to be. UM has great returning talent and as of now an excellent recruiting class. Hoke or English might make fine HC's. There's no reason to rule them out just because they are supported by Lloyd Carr. And maybe there is something to Carr not wanting Miles - maybe Miles is a bit dirty?
