I heard on the radio the CSU president is playing hardball.
Problem is you now have a coach you know wants to leave. Can't imagine this doesn't get done at this point.

I agree that it will get done, but it would be interesting to see the UF reaction if the CSU president said I ain't budging on the buyout.

No reason to feel sad for us, think we made the right hire at the right time.
Pros:
Demonstrated program building ability
Demonstrated excellent offensive coordinator ability
Demonstrated ability to develop QBs
Young, could be at UF enjoying success for the next 10 years
Affordable and probably won't have a crazy buyout if things go sour

Why on earth would the CSU president budge on the buyout? Maybe drop your buyout down a tad bit in exchange for being scheduled 2 or 3 times over the next 15 years.. get that money some way or somehow.

Why dont you look at Col St. before Jimbo buddy
Wasn't great, but at the same time, when you play no one it isn't hard to turn a team around. He had some good offenses at Alabama, with the best talent in the country, but i wouldn't call any of them prolific.

He looks like Jim Bob Duggar

Good hire for UF.
Some people have bashed the hire because he's not a "big name coach" or a "sexy pick" and that UF can do better. I think it's crap to say he's not a big name guy or whatever. People need to realize that these big bame coaches were a relatively unknown coach at 1 point. It's not like they were a big name / great coach from day 1.
Fact: nobody knows who the next great college football coach is right now. He could be an offensive or defensive coordinator, a position coach, assistant coach, special teams coordinator, young guy at a small school, etc. There are some really good football coaches out there that nobody has ever heard of. And tbat coach is just waiting for a chance.
This was a good hire for UF. Regardless if he's a "sexy pick" or a well known guy. He can coach football and that's all that matters.

Very good hire. I like McElwain and think he will do well and is great with QB's.

I'm heterosexual as well but I would not clean Kliff Kingsbury's jizz off my back after he finished. I'd leave it there. Just saying.

The Coloradoan is reporting that Florida is in final negotiations with Jim McElwain, and that the Gators are trying to negotiate McElwain’s reported $7.5 million buyout down to $3 million with the promise of a future series with one game in Fort Collins or Denver.
Scheduling a home game against UF could be a great way to open up their new stadium

Forcing Florida to leave the state of Florida for an OOC game. That only seems fair.

I'm guessing Foley has a Plan B. I wonder how long he waits before he proceeds with it?
