Seems like a nice hire for LSU. Do you guys fear that LSU will now become a springboard for OC's and DC's to go get their own gig?

I dont see Aranda staying past next season if LSU's defense is in the top 5. Now add Canada's name if he comes in and their offense takes off.

It's not an optimal situation but the administration decided this was the best route when they hired Orgeron. It will be their asses if this system doesn't work due to instability.

I don't think Aranda wants to be HC but more of an NFL DC?

Which means I could see him staying a little bit.

How come Venebles hasn't left Clemson yet?

He's a good Coach but not exactly a name that comes up when talking about the "elite" DC's in CFB.

Not like when you play Clemson you have to fight and claw for every yard you get. Look at the pts they give up, especially against other good teams.

Just look at Chavis. He's been a DC forever and he's elit...hahahaha. Sorry. I just couldn't finish typing that.

If that happens , you are winning lots of games. See Alabama , LSU with Pelini etc.

Seriously good stuff. I'd love to see LSU do this, maybe during spring ball or something.

Nothing profound happening here, but it's cool to see some of the coach's personality come out a bit and get a feel for his coaching and teaching style. Plus, I love that whole "coach cadence" that they all slip into when instructing.

Thanks for sharing.

Yes. Plus on that is, if you're established as a pipeline for strong coordinators, you'll reload and not merely replace (take OU and Bama as two examples).

Wtf?

Clemson had like the 10th rated scoring D in the country this year and he won the Broyles Award for the nation's best coordinator.

This.

Although LSU has a couple of things that give them an advantage:
1) LSU is setting a new pay scale for its coordinators. The job pays better than a lot of head coaching jobs. That will make the coordinators a little more picky. And help us land replacements.
2) If LSU gets a reputation for coordinators getting high paying job offers, that can't be a bad thing. Like our players getting a rep for getting drafted into the NFL after their junior year and becoming great pros.

Exactly. That is one of the positives about getting coach O, as opposed to Jimbo or Herman. We got coach O on the cheap , so we can afford to pay top dollar for coordinators.
