Friend of mine works for the Bears. He said that Chicago is about to hire Rod Marinelli as their D-Line coach and Haley is coming to LSU. He seemed pretty confident, so I thought I would pass the info along

Buddy Songy just reported on his radio show that LSU will issue a press release today confirming Haley to LSU. It will be part of the same press release naming Chavis as DC.

les said he was still part of the staff. I got to work on the show, I will try to recap everything tonight at six.

Miles did say he talked to Chavis before leaving for ATL, and that it was official last friday.

are you talking about Chavis? Not real familiar with his defenses to be honest. Seems like it will be a good fit though, he'll coach linebackers, and he's been in on the other hires. Seems like an intense guy, about what they needed.

I'm not sold on Haley, but I'm open to opinions to the contrary. Anyone?

Talking about Haley, I don't see whats so exciting about him. He has been vagabond coach at best. In 19 years his longest stay was 3 years at Baylor. But like others have said I have a open mind about. As far as Chavis I think its great hire. Who could have been brought in that has a better resume than him.

I'm usually willing to give a guy the benefit of the doubt, if he's a college assitant, picked up by the NFL and then chooses to leave. He was at MSU, not like it was catching a lot of attention nationally, so someone liked what he was doing. Just my thoughts.

if you're getting looks from the nfl while coaching in starkville you're obviously doing something right.
