It's pathetic. I understand if you don't like the hire, but now that he is the coach we need to support him and hope he wins many games.

Many know he is going to fail and understand that the next time this job is open, it isn't going to be situated so nicely.

It's the same thing with Miles. A certain faction of LSU fans are experts who should have gone into coaching.

bullshite!! He may need to earn respect as a head coach, but if you dont support the fricking team and coaches, why the frick are you here?

I dont support the decision, but it's done now and continue to be fully supportive of the program.

what the frick is wrong with you people. No one wants O to fail, we just thought there were better options available. What can't you understand about that?

Um, you do recognize that the fans who criticized Miles over the last five years were correct, right? He got fired for incompetence midseason.

Many want O to be the coach simply because they are uneducated white trash.

O is going to fail. Plain and simple. Wanting him to do so or not has no impact on that.

we do HOPE he wins, but we do feel as if there were much better options and that we had 2 fricking months before anyone else to get the BEST head coach we could... we made another fricking emotional decision that we think will end not working out... again...

I enjoy watching the teams I care about win games.

We know Rutgers ain't gonna do shite in the next few years (at best) so I'm kind of banking on LSU for my Saturdays.

Whoever coaches, I want them to win. I just have severe reservations about CEO.

After over a decade of winning. But the haters were in board from day one.

For me rooting for LSU has been a great passion but with that passion comes an expectation that the school returns my support with an attempt to succeed.

It probably would be different for me if LSU never won the SEC or NCs. Then I might be content with mediocre hires and topping out with 9 or 10 wins in a season. But now that it is clear LSU's potential is much higher there can be no acceptance of LSU not trying to succeed at the highest levels.

This is not just a terrible hire. On paper I think it is the worst HC hire by a major program in recent history (we can debate the UT Dooley hire but O at Ole Miss was worse overall I think). How can people emotionally invest in a program that does not care about its own success enough to try? Trying requires hiring a coach who has potential that matches LSU's ability to win championships.

No. But O has a 0% chance of being an elite coach at an elite program. Again, if 8-9 wins every year are success, then O has a chance of being a success. I don't think LSU fans would be happy with that, and that is the best case scenario.

People don't want O to fail, they just do not see any chance for him to be truly successful.

I want LSU to win every game O coaches.

It still wouldn't change the fact that this was a second rate search and process nor that Joe Alleva is a piss poor AD.
