He has done more with less. Cincy will probably be in the college football playoffs this year and they almost took Ga. out last year in the Peach. Our beloved Joey B almost went there instead of here. That says alot. If Lsu settles on a mediocre Coach again... I think we all know what the result will be. This is where our new athletic director will hopefully do what he was hired to do. Knock it out of the park! Luke!Luke!Luke!

Yea hopefully LSU has learned it’s lesson and won’t involve politics when it comes to this coaching change and hires the best they can regardless of skin color.

Fickell and Riley are my top 2. If we could pull off either of those, we would have a bright future.

I’d think Franklin and Fickell are the front runners. Franklin’s home and comfortable at Penn State. Cincinnati isn’t a destination job, so Fickell’s just passing thru. Would either come to Baton Rouge? Who knows.

Don’t be surprised if Fickell gets a call from the Burrows!

I loved him for Ohio state as a coordinator but hoping we’d look elsewhere for national recruiting. I think he does more with less for sure, I was just worried we’d always "have less" and be more like 2008 OSU than 2014 OSU. To be fair, Louisiana has better talent/speed than Ohio does, so could be a non-issue here.

I agree, but people are saying he'll never leave Ohio.

Money has a way of persuading people to do things they don't want to do.

He's an Ohio native, likely in the cfp this year and about to lead the top big 12 program. Why would he sign up for the sec west?

I'm still all for Aranda with Herman as OC. That would be the safest/fool proof hires ever

To be fair, Day is still nationally recruiting and he constantly walks around like he is sniffing egg farts. So I would say Ohio State nearly recruits itself.

A last week, I was watching that penn state Iowa game. They were showing highlights from a Iowa Wisconsin game from like 1957. Said it was the last time a top 5 match up between two big ten teams took place that didn't involve Ohio State or Michigan.

So basically yes. That place recruits itself. To a comical extent.

Not sure why you'd want to keep beating your brains in against that kind of history when at least at LSU history is more on your side.

Why leave Cincinnati for LSU? Because Cincinnati isn’t a top tier program - despite their flash of success, will never win a NC, and LSU can throw lots of money his way. Is he interested in living in Louisiana…that’s the question.

He and his wife have six kids and she has no interest in leaving Ohio. Could an obscene amount of money change that? Perhaps, but I think he’s holding out for the OSU job when Day leaves for the NFL.

It’s not sustainable and he needs to sell the top. Not necessarily true, but should be considered when you’re talking about Cincinnati versus LSU for a hot name.

Money will uproot almost everyone, Ohio is Fickell’s home, but double his salary and he will make his home in Baton Rouge. Nonsense that he will not leave Ohio because coaches are moving all the times when an ideal situation is present.
