In considering whether Chip Kelly might return to coach College Football, this author made an interesting comparison and conclusion regarding LSU football.

It's hard not to think of a more pleasing trip back to college, when programs such as USC and Miami just fired their coaches. Or to Virginia Tech or South Carolina, where their coaches have hung it up. Or to the soon-to-be available LSU, the most marquee of them all.

No high profile coach would ever go to a school where they fire you for a 13-11 conference record after 3 years.

I would not want to coach at a school that is complacent with 3 consecutive losses, 1 to a team you haven't beaten in 5 years, 1 to a team that is unranked (and at home), and 1 to your biggest historical rival. All by double digits.

All while looking completely inept.

When that conference includes teams like Bama, Florida, Auburn & Georgia, I think they'll realize that a 13-11 conference record won't cut when the goal is a NC. Top notch coaches aren't gaping vaginas.

ETA: Just saw your post was sarcasm.

I'm so tired of this quote. As in the NFL which we know stands for Not For Long if you can't win with talent.

Trust me I love Les....the man, but the thing that is mentioned on here numerous times is the game or should I say the SEC has past him by. I feel sorry for him and the thought of losing a great recruiting class, but if he has not changed over the recent years why do you think he will now?

Did a good job and has a great record but as much as it pains me to say this...it is time for a change.

I'd love to see him be kept around the program. He can recruit and just be Les. Has to be serviceable still

If I were a Bama fan I would love for us to keep Les around. Especially if Chip Kelly might be available with the athletes available in Louisiana.

Miles 13-11 record in 3 years isn't good. And if a coach is scared of the repercussions for going 13-11 in 3 years, then maybe he should consider doing something else.

Also, going 13-11 in 3 years isn't something to pop off about.
