Head coaches at their alma mater.

Frank Beamer- Virginia Tech

Mike Gundy- OSU

David Shaw- Stanford

Kliff Kingsbury- Texas Tech

Bryan Harsin- Boise St

Ruffin McNeil- East Carolina

Troy Calhoun- Air Force

Pat Fitzgerald- Northwestern

My list is from 2014 so some of these might have changed. My question is does LSU have any alum's who have even little to no shot of getting the job there?

ETA: This may seem like a troll since a lot of the names getting thrown out are on this list but it's not. It seems like an interesting discussion.

Well if you include no shot, I can probably rattle off a few.

That's not what he's talking about.

To answer the OP, the new OC or Be be would be the closest to fitting that description. Ensminger was a QB at LSU and Bebe (coach O) grew up watching LSU football. Other than that it would fall to coaches that previously coached here like Will Muschamp (no thanks) and Jimbo (let's do it) and Nick Saban (no ragrets)

ETA frick marshmallow/android spell check.

Ed Orgeron was an LSU player briefly before transferring to Northwestern State.

As you can see, we thought this was a good idea just because it worked out the first time.

Damn to be such a good program you guys have shite for coaches.

No troll I'm kinda amazed

Dowell Loggains (bears offensive coordinator)
Kirk botkin
Dick bumpas (TCU defensive coordinator)
Butch Davis
Jimmy Johnson
Rhett lashlee ( auburn offensive coordinator)
Gus ( auburn head coach)
Houston Nutt
Barry Switzer

All played arkansas. If we ever wanted Gus he'd crawl back to Fayetteville lol

Shaw laughed at the question because it's a ridiculous question to ask these coaches.

That's one thing that we really don't have. Former players that have went on to be high profile coaches. It really is quite mind blowing to be honest.

No doubt. While I can understand, to a degree, hiring from your own graduates, our PTB apparently thought Bryant's greatness could be transmitted to his assistants and players through osmosis or something.

The precise reason I'm worried about the prospect of hiring Dabo.
