If Herman works out, great. LSU can't control a PR narrative to save its life. It just spins and spins until it's forced to respond.
If there is worse incompetence in the SEC athletics I'd be surprised.

LSU cannot go "vladimir putin" and assasinate people for saying shite. They just aren't a power house that gets the love. They aren't a Notre Dame. It's just the fact. Same thing with Sankey taking Floridas side in hurricane gate. He has no business doing that but they just don't have the network and mass appeal to get the love.

However this plays out, if you don't have the top prospect, you're subject to get played. Just the way it is. We all wanted Texas to win for a reason. The real fault of aleva is not getting it done last year, when competition was more realistic. One coach only has to sit and do nothing (fisher). The other is being courted by the biggest money pit in the game. Not much aleva can do about it. Again, aleva's shortfall was a year ago. Not tonight

You can't control what others say. You can be much more aggressive when incompetent and/or malicious statements are made against your brand. The generic press release from LSU tonight is better than nothing. It would be better had it said LSU categorically denies the irresponsible claim made on ESPN tonight that LSU prematurely announced a coaching change.
