LSU had a more balanced offense this year than Pitt did with Canada.

Pass Attempts -
LSU - 119th - 269 attempts
Pitt - 111th - 295 attempts
Completion percentage -
LSU - 58.73%
Pitt - 58.64%
Ratio on the season -
LSU - Passes (39.1%), Rushes (60.8%)
Pitt - Passes (36.6%), Rushes (63.3%)
Other threads on this board (LINK) corroborate much of this - Canada's offenses really don't feature a downfield passing attack. And we're not talking about an "air raid" offense here either - but I think most of us look at teams like Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State, etc, and consider those offenses to be fairly balanced. They run between the tackles, and they throw the ball vertically down the field.
But if you watched Pitt at all this year, you'll note the extreme lack of any consistent downfield passing attack. And when you look at these numbers, and the fact that LSU had a more balanced offense this year under Ensminger (with Miles' playbook) than Canada did at Pitt with "full control" of the offense, you really have to wonder - is this the best move for LSU?
Did we not want to fundamentally change our offensive philosophy? Haven't we grown tired of watching games where we pass for less than 20 times throughout the game? Canada is a fine coordinator, but for LSU, is this really what we expected when we fired Miles? Just a few modifications and pre-snap theatrics to the current system?

Maybe it's his personnel? Maybe?
His offense certainly didn't tank, like LSU under Miles the last couple years.

I want someone who scores points. I don't give a shite how he does it.

What an original thread. Completely different from the other 500 you started today.

Half this board wants helFrich who runs and run heavy play action offense.

If you think he hasn't had passing offenses look at when he was the OC at Indiana. He does whatever his team does best.
Kellen Lewis put up huge numbers his freshman and sophomore seasons.

I think everyone is so damn terrified of getting the Cam and Les offense again that we don't know who the hell we want. I'm as anxious as any of us, but I just keep telling myself Cam and Les are not coaching our offense again. Woooooosaaaa

First off, stop looking at just numbers and stats, and watch what's happening on the field.
And isn't this the same fan base getting mad whenever we throw it's 50 yards downfield. Now we want a MORE deep vertical passing attack.
All of a sudden we hate short to intermediate passes. When that's what we've been lacking

Alright, f stick. Would you rather keep Ensminger or hire Canada?
It's that simple.

It isn't about percentage numbers. It was a suck arse scheme at LSU. We have been through this a million times.

His offense seems to adapt to personnel.

You are 100%. All the crap about opening the offense, is about to be a load of crap.

I think that you will get a lot more than that...this guy has shown the ability to adapt...and both Aranda and CEO will give their input as to what they think it will take to beat out hated rivals...jmho

All these garbage stats. Why don't you put up the qbs td to int ratio and pts per game. Who cares if there isn't balance if you're putting points on the board. Qb was 26 tds and 6 ints. Give me that every year.

He wants LSU to fail, So he can bitch about something else. Miserable clown.

These Negatards look though the hay stack endlessly searching for something to be an arse about...sometimes they come across like stealth fans from our eastern rival...I wish they would just move to the east and stay there.
