Mark my words.

Not only will they not beat Alabama. They'll fail to beat Auburn, and Florida regularly.

This decision is going to put us back to the 90s. It's a disaster of astronomical proportions. The idiot fans, players, former players, media types, etc that supported this man to be the head coach of one of the most powerful programs in CFB should be held accountable for this when it comes crashing down.

Just like hiring Mike Archer over Spurrier in 1987. It will hurt for a long time.

I completely agree. This is the worst day I've ever experienced as an LSU fan and it isn't even close.

This is where people are wrong. Even at Ole Miss, Orgeron left the cupboard pretty full (certainly by OM standards).

The worst case scenario is his failure to win enough games as a coach despite recruiting excellent talent. It'll be a fast recovery if he is fired.

You don't understand what I mean by 5 years. I mean that we're going to have to rebuild for 5 years after this Coach O mess to be competitive again.

It's different times. Everyone in the SEC has talent.

You did not read what I wrote. It won't take five years to recover post-O because the talent will be in place to be successful.

Orgeron will not fail to recruit, if indeed he is not a success. He will fail as a poor CEO coach. His replacement will thrive quickly in that scenario, like Nutt did at Ole Miss.

You are retarded. O is one of the best recruiters in the country. How do you make it through life?

What did Ole Miss do with all of that talent? Jack shite. Orgeron won't be able to out recruit the top dogs in this conference. The negative recruiting will be insane. Alabama just got 10x better with this and every other SEC program too.

To get the program how the next coach wants it will be a daunting task.

We needed a football IQ coach. Not a recruiter. We had a recruiter in Les Miles. Orgeron brings fricking nothing to actually making game plans, calling plays, or implementing schemes. It's fricking Les Miles 2.0

That apparently are more stupid than an anonymous rmnldr message board poster.

So yeah ok...I'll mark your words because you are who we should listen too.

fricking moron.

Won nine games each of the first two years under Nutt with a pair of Cotton Bowl wins. That's really big success at Ole Miss.

And you know this how? LSU still cranks out NFL players, and Orgeron has a reputation of being a great recruiting and fun to play for. LSU will still own this state in recruiting, so they will still be loaded with talent.

Now this is a legitimate argument. But note that LSU did not collapse talent-wise under Miles. They won't under Orgeron either.
