4. Bielema

I can't figure out why so many people keep throwing his name out there. His contract has a non-compete clause in it so he CANNOT coach another SEC team.

That being said, my list goes:

1. Herman
2. Jimbo
3. Kelly
4. Fleck
5. Fedora (ETA)
6. CEO

1. Tom Herman
2. Ed Orgeron
3. Jimbo Fisher
4. Jump off a cliff
5. The Field

Houston is Houston. I don't care who they lose to. Anyone saying Herman is out of the running simply because Houston lost is crazy. If Houston didn't lose at least once, Herman probably wasn't leaving.

I really like Coach O and I think people can and do learn from mistakes and get better.

Jimbo is still a very good coach, anyone that says otherwise just isn't paying attention.

Those are the only 3 choices. Period. If Herman and Jimbo say no and you hire Chip Kelly over Orgeron, what the hell are you doing?

I'm a Niner fan so my view of Chip is a bit distorted, even though I know the NFL and college are totally different animals and that he has no talent to work with in SF i still have a bad taste in my mouth about him. I'll leave him out for these purposes:

1a Fleck
1b Herman
2 Jimbo
3 Petrino
4 0

Would be happy with any of the first 4 though tbh.

If O beats Bama,

1. O
2. Herman
3. Fleck
4. Jimbo

If he wins all but Bama,

1. Herman
2. Fleck
3. O
4. Jimbo

1) O (this assumes SEC West champ min.)
2) Kelly (assumes available for college this year)
3) Petrino (proven resume and not NFL open)
4) Jimbo (argument similar to #3, just not as good)
5) Herman (a 3-5 year coach, 3 if fails and NFL bound in 5 if succeeds)
6) Go fish.

CEO if he wins. Has coached in the SEC. Although it was a total failure, he seems to have learned what not to do to be successful. He knows the pressure that comes with coaching LSU
Jimbo- has coached at LSU and understands the pressure

Maybe's
Petrino- He is a good coach. Not sure if he is a good fit

Not on my List
Herman-He has never been on my list.he may be the next great coach, but i am not sure you take a chance. We will see if he can handle the adversity of losing a couple of games. Been a rough 3 weeks.
Kelly- Not sold on the fast pace offense. In the SEC you have to play defense.
Fleck- For me same reasons as Herman

1b. Herman

If both of those guys tell us no, and O doesn't have a spectacular showing for the last 4 games

2. Petrino
3. Peterson

If O does have a fantastic end of the year, then he becomes 2. He will keep our staff together, so the ONLY gamble will be HC, whereas if we bring in a new proven HC who wants his own coordinators, we gamble on the whole package. If we shite the bed we have to start all over.

P.S. If O does win out, and does it convincingly, then I'm not going to lose sleep if they hire him over the others, provided it's a short leash.

1. Jimbo
2. Kelly
3. Herman
4. Ogeron

I think Jimbo is the safest bet by far. He checks all the boxes on what we need and he's coached in the SEC before. He's the only one I see walking in and taking over without a hiccup. I also think he's going to go with a pro-style offense which is what I want. I want a pro-style QB. Our current system is built for it including our OL and skill players. You can still be creative in that system or at least unpredictable. It also makes an easy sell for recruits that want to play on Sunday.

Kelly obviously is the other end of the offensive spectrum, but has the experience to come in and make effective changes quickly if he chooses.

Herman is certainly intriguing due to his early success and offensive mind, but he remains unproven.

Ogeron if he wins out certainly deserves a look. For those that use the excuse that LSU has the talent to win out anyway, according to ESPN LSU has a 3.3% chance (before the Ole Miss game) to win out. Now I have no idea how they came up with that figure, but if he can do that it's a pretty amazing accomplishment. I feel confident with a good staff he will do well at LSU, but to bring us back to being a consistent Top 5-10 team will be tough for him or anyone for that matter.
