LSU Fans: We Know About Jimbo Fisher; What About Bo Pelini As Your HC?

Of course he was fired at Nebraska.
That being said, didn't he always win 9-10 games there every year? He never had a losing season and apparently was largely forced out due to personality conflicts. Perhaps he learned from his tenure at Nebraska and is a better coach now for it? If he could win at Nebraska maybe he could win more at LSU?
Saban was good at Michigan State; he got better at LSU.
Miles was good at Oklahoma State; he got better at LSU.
Pelini was good at Nebraska; could he be better at LSU?

The only thing that really would worry me about Pelini is that he's not much of a recruiter

how bout Jimbo at HC and Bo at DC???

True.
What if he kept Frank Wilson and Ed Orgeron on staff?
LSU is a fiery fan base. I think Pelini would match them perfectly in the personality department.

I don't disagree. LSU could do a LOT worse. Would have to hire several ace recruiters for sure.

Are you laughing at your current state with your new head coach?

I would be for this only because one of my good friends is very good friends with Bo.
Would likely be bad for LSU.

Why? I'm curious. Perhaps LSU fans have some inside knowledge?
He is not a great recruiter, given. So he would need a couple of ace recruiters on his staff.
Other than that, he was a very successful DC at LSU, right? On a NC winning LSU staff? He is experienced. He is energetic. He won at Nebraska, won more than any coach they have had since Tom Osborne. And he took over Nebraska when they were really bad and left them winning more games than when he arrived.
So I don't really see a lot of negatives with him. Unless LSU thinks they can hire a better candidate or they know something else about him.
Winning at Nebraska is not easy. If he can win 9-10 games there I think he could win 10-11 at LSU.

Can we take him as DC right now and send Steele to wherever Pelini is.

He's really not a bad coach, just not much of a recruiter at all..and the whole anger management thing.
I mean we probably wouldn't be any worse than we are now.

I'd love him back as a DC. He is way too much of a hot head to be a HC

Beaux wouldn't be terrible but I'd be nervous with him in charge of this program. His inability to control his emotions is a big problem.

The psychotic episodes on the sidelines don't strike you as being a negative? I'm a fan of Pelini the DC. But the guy has a serious anger management issue. Not sure that would get better in the SEC.
And I do think LSU can hire a better candidate.

I think his feistiness would be good for LSU.
Regarding his moments when his anger became a problem, you would need to know that he has learned from these episodes. You would hope for personal growth in that area.
A better candidate? Maybe, maybe not. Objectively, I would have to rate him in the top 10% of candidates that would take the job as HC at LSU. Not many candidates have been a coordinator on a NC team, a HC at a major program for 7 years, and a winning percentage of .713. Guys like Jimbo Fisher and Gary Patterson have better CVs but they may not leave their current positions.

Judging from his game this past Saturday it is pretty safe to assume this hasn't happened.
