LSU contacted Gruden in September, told no thanks

I have a wealthy uncle in Santa Rosa CA who has business ties to the sports world in Northern CA. He says an unnamed LSU rep made a phone call the week after Les was fired to Bob Lamonte, who was (still is?- not clear) Jon Gruden's agent to gauge interest and was told within 12 hours that there was none. This was supposedly during the check w Saban/Urban etc dream candidates just to make sure phase.

Cowher and I talked the LSU job over tea and crumpets in the garden. He mentioned Gruden and himself had been contacted but both are waiting for the Bama job to reopen.
