That would be a great hire for them, TBH. He can recruit the hell of out Texas.

that's an excellent hire for Baylor if it happens. He was a year away from fully turning SMU around.

I've said on here a few times that if LSU's tier 1 list falls through, we should go after morris. Elite OC and has unbelievably deep Texas recruiting ties.

Still, I wonder if he holds out for Sumlin to be fired. Morris can do better than Baylor.

i think, assuming we don't hire fedora, fedora would be in consideration for the TAMU job, Morris is currently 5-6 and needing a win vs navy to get in to a bowl. he is certainly in the process of turning SMU around but i think he still looks a little risky for a school like TAMU..... Baylor on the other hand.....

I was just mentioning him over Fedora in another thread.

If so, Baylor got a good one imo. Ppl like to ride Herman for what he did to Sabans defense, Morris scored more and had more yards. Clemsons D just couldnt hold.
I like em both, just sayin Morris Is right there with Herman imo

Morris has really young team this season though. They'll be an 8-11 win team next season, and that'll give Morris his pick of schools.

So yeah, I'd stay in Highland Park and just wait for Sumlin to inevitably fail. You already know some Aggie money has reached out to Morris

SMU will throw more money to Morris and he will not leave for Baylor.

Good for him. Baylor might actually not be dead in the water after all.

this is a surprisingly stupid hire by Baylor. Morris went to TAM and would likely leave when sumlin gets fired, but more to the point Philip Montgomery at Tulsa has not only done much much better in the same conference but also has deep Baylor ties.

he was the HC at Denton HS outside Dallas, then the co-OC/QB/RB coach for Art Briles at Houston and Baylor from 2003 to 2011, then OC at Baylor from 2012-2014.

this is his second year at Tulsa, who was 2-10 the year before he got there, 3-9 the year before that. in year one Montgomery went 6-7. he's 8-3 this year. Morris has gone 2-10 and 5-6.

That's a great fit. Still running a wide open offense so the personnel doesn't change too much. Just the scheme

Baylor is going to throw $4-5M at him. Not sure if SMU can match.
