jmo but i think LSU would have only 1 loss if O coached the whole season. i don't want O as coach btw.

And possibly undefeated if we would have pulled the trigger on Jimbo.

No he did average at USC considering that roster.
they were preseason #24 and under Orgeron finished at #19. its the only example Ive ever seen of a teams ranking actually improving under the interim.

Do you think Bama, Ohio State , USC, michigan, etc. hires a coach because he's from the area?

But the offensive output, or lack of, against Bama rest on his shoulders.
This. If there is one thing that Coach O could have done to be legitimately considered for the position, it would have been to show a legitimate difference against Bama. Not necessarily win, but show that the offense could do something, anything against their defense. He did not and it looked like a Miles coached game with an arguably better defense.

I really like the guy and the energy that he brought from day one, but that in no way qualifies him to lead a top notch program. In my humble opinion, keeping the program on track for the remainder of a season is not comparable to being completely responsible for all aspects of the program year round. Just because my kid can steer the car on the freeway in light traffic, if I set the cruise control, doesn't mean that he can be trusted with the keys.

Beating teams you're supposed to destroy isn't impressive.
How about destroying teams you're supposed to beat? I think that's impressive.
