I wouldn't call Kentucky football coach a great job, but I hope he lands there.

Isn't their coach in his first season? I haven't even looked at their record.

Maybe, not sure.

They are just a huge school in the big ten that always seems like they should be better. I mean, it seems like Illinois should have a good football team.

Trying to think of a sleeping giant type of destination for Les. He just seems like he belongs in the big ten with his offensive mindset.

I don't think les is as hated nationwide as he is in Louisiana

He may wind up with a mid/big name school, it's not totally impossible

This is a fact. The only people who hate Les are LSU fans. Nationwide he is a respected coach.

Damn. Lets try to think about this rationally....OK?

Pros:
A National Championship winning coach
Lots of 10 win seasons
Clean Program
Graduates around 90% of his players

Cons:
Got fired from his previous job
Is stuck in a 1970's BIG 10 mentality in terms of product
Is old

What else?

Miles' recent production stains his historical win/loss record. No one is going to invest millions of dollars into a a failing product. The Titanic is sinking: would you be willing to buy discount tickets knowing that?

The same reason Miami hired Richt, he was an excellent coach that needed a fresh start... coaches of Les Miles caliber are hard to find. He recruits lights out and brings instant respect and credibility. He will be just what some foundering program needs

Well that to me is kinda ignorant, the man won 9 games last year. A lot of AD's will see a guy who improved from the previous year and a guy who had sustained success. He has proven he can recruit and turned Okie State around when he was hired. He also turned LSU into a consistent top 5 team for years. I think people are letting their own opinion of Les and their frustration influence their thinking of him.

Penn State is the best fit for Miles, and the only place on that list that he'd have success. He'd have a talent rich recruiting base, and playin in the big 10 would win 8-10 games a year, maybe sneak into the conference championship once in a while. All the other schools on the list would require more offense to compete, and dont have the talent pool that Miles needs to win.

I have an extremely high opinion of Les as a person. His coaching, at this point, I have little respect for.

He's proven he can recruit here. So what?
LSU SEC record:

2012: 6-2
2013: 5-3
2014: 4-4
2015:5-3

Having good recruits and not being able to coach will not earn you millions of dollars. The record speaks for itself.

For a lot that SEC record is pretty good considering how limited LSU has been at QB and how good other teams have become. People are being foolish thinking the only schools that will offer Les are teams that never win.

Now there may not be many good opening and he may settle but I think many programs would take a coach like Les.

I couldn't agree more, but I think the point is that most college football fans outside of LA and the SEC don't necessarily see what we see. They see a quirky coach that's a proven winner. For a lot of ADs he's a coup. Perception is reality.

12 years is a long time in today's college football landscape for any coach. Miles can be successful again, but it will have a lot to do with where he lands.
