They're reporting on Alabama that the FAU job makes sense because his exwife prefers metropolitan area and she is from south Florida and they are trying to reconcile. That would make sense why he took this job. Also if his wife lives in the area it would get him closer to his kids.

Why? Bc he didn't want to come work at your school FOR his former employee? He likely thinks he needs to show he can lead/build his own program and LSU OC doesn't give him the opportunity to show that.

Maybe. It might say that he, despite what people on a message board say, feels no need to coach against the only guy in America who gave him a shot after USC. Maybe it's a "Thank you, coach" for giving him the chance he needed and paying him well to do it. Or, perhaps, he just doesn't want to be at LSU. That kinda seems obvious at this point.
