I agree, and I fully expected Dawson to be back this year. Eliot was the one I expected gone.

I think it would take Stoops going for Eliot to go. They've been together awhile and in Eliot's defense he lost a lot of experience up front while trying to change schemes for the defense. Losing Lewis mid-season killed that squad, who hadn't looked that bad up to that point.
Either way, I have no idea who we go after at this point. If Joker would do it, I'd bring him back as an OC in a heartbeat.

No way Joker comes back. Plus, he has the stentch of NCAA issues as well.

Meh. Those are some pretty minor NCAA dings. And yes, I know he wouldn't be asked back or come back. Doesn't mean he isn't a better option than likely whatever shitshow will be brought in at this rate.

I would take Mumme back before Joker. Also, Stoops need to get a former HC that runs the fun and gun. Can't think of any who would fit that mold that is available.

Well Belle, Mumme never got implicated by the NCAA. And I was not being serious, but Stoops has to have a coordinator who has been around to help with the game management flaws.
