Auburn Booster has contacted Art Briles to gauge interest if "Malzahn were to not be with school next season."

Projected Openings Updated..

obvious LSU already done

Texas - Will get Herman, thats why they are throwing info out now, to put it in Hermans head, think thats totally punch to Strong's gut..

USC

Oregon

Auburn

Thats 5 high paying schools right there, I bet head coaches are licking their chops to renegotiate their deals and get paid this year...

I'm calling BS on this. Not even Auburn would hire Art Briles.

By the way did the client get a happy ending.

Texas is so dysfunctional that them getting Herman is far from a given.

Dont coaches like to know who their boss will be. Texas still has a interim ad.

Can anyone link me to anything where Herman says Texas is his dream job.

Let us not forget the Bobby Petrino fiasco that happened only a few short years ago. Auburn would be wise to wait until next year before jumping into the mix of schools needing new coaches.

I'm not usually "in the know" with many things, but I do have a patient whom is an Auburn booster. He's a guy that's in the mix with some of the behind the scenes things there, and he said the same thing. He was actually confident that they'll end up with Briles. He said that some believe that even if Malzahn stays, that they think they could land Briles as an O.C.

TIFWIW ?

yep, was told the same thing, if anyone can take a PR hit, or shall I say not give a shite about a PR hit its Auburn. They know that if they were to get him they could compete with Saban... I mean, how do you take Baylor of all places and beat the shite out of the rest of the Texas schools.

Now that doesn't have a prayer in hell's chance of happening.

Briles isn't going to run Malzahn's candy arse Mickey Mouse shite offense and Malzahn sure as hell isn't going to give up on his system. The guy has DVD's and books about it, he's married to it more than he's married to his wife.

I have no doubt Auburn will go the slimy route. Briles or Petrino for sure. Living in the same state as the gumps, they are desperate.

Theyve been writing about it for weeks, even before the LSU game.

Supposedly they want to bring him in as OC. Has a relationship with Gus.

Okay, well it's been a widely circulated idea in Auburn. Whether you believe it or not.
