Conventional wisdom says he is a better college coach than NFL coach, that his uptempo style just won't work with a 43 man roster.

He apparently let it be known that he wasn't interested in returning to college.

So, Chip, how'd that work out for you?

Honestly the team has been pretty well coached this year. There's just no talent there at all after Baalke fricked us over.

frick Chip Kelly, who wants a smug arse coach who hates "recruiting" as a head coach just because he runs some gimmick offense? I never understood the obsession with him by our fans and other schools when this was a constant bitch of his..

He will sit out then coach in college next year. I can't see another NFL team taking a shot with him.

I agree. And, my first guess would be ND.

A zone running game is not a gimmick offense. Hurry-up no-huddle is not a gimmick offense. And here we go again with the "smug" bullshite.

You know what people like? Winning. And he did that a whole lot in college. Who gives a shite how he is, or what he doesn't like to do. He fricking wins a lot of games.

Stupid post.

He has probably made at least $50 million over the last 10 years so i think its worked out pretty well for him.

I think he'd do well at A&M.

Really? He completely wiped out the PAC 10 and created a dominant program at a place that was not a traditional power.

NFL aside, he won his conference 3 times in four years. He has a 46-7(86%) record in college. He was a play away from winning the national championship. He was objectively a phenomenal CFB coach by any measure.

He needs to go to A&M. I'd love to see him there.

Watch the Saints trade Payton away for a few draft picks, then hire Kelly and be in the exact same boat. I wouldn't put it past Loomis.

I could see him at Notre Dame. If he wants to stay in the NFL, he will likely have to be a coordinator somewhere before anyone hires him as a head coach again.

My guess is he gets a NFL head coaching job before the week is over.

I think you'd see him succeed his first three years with the talent there now, but he'd start having worse and worse recruiting classes.
