No he's not. If O gets fired so will Alleva. His job is in O's hands.

I actually see O as a gift. He loves LSU and Louisiana and will take the job "for the chance" rather than expecting 5 years and tons of money guaranteed like a Fedora or Fuente would. We can now afford to be patient.

Joe Allev

a is apparently temperamental and does not handle the "negotiating" very well.

His hires have not impressed me with exception of Torina and let's face it that hire was one that got screwed up when he tried to hire Pat Murphy from Bama and he got cold feet which resulted in Torina being targeted.

Basically, the search started last week and he got played again by Jimbo. When talks with Herman took the "give me some time to see what UT is gonna do" he went safe and familiar.

That is quite an emotional statement to make. I think it's time to go all in and target Jurick or Raddy as AD.

Who really would you people complaining about the O hire expect Alleva to hire (after Fisher and Herman)? Would they really have been a big enough name for you not to bitch about his judgment and abilities? I doubt it highly.

Explain the upside?

He has motivated the team, made the games fun to watch again, got Ensminger to display an exciting offense again, held Bama scoreless for 3 quarters for the first time in 15 years, is a great recruiter, makes his players give their all, is energetic, has the support of much of the fan base, loves Louisiana and LSU, and WANTS to be here and has a very short time to prove himself.

Are their negatives? Sure. But, at least to me, the upside outweighs the downside under the circumstances. Again, I think Alleva made a rational, adult decision.
