This is what I was told last night. Jimbo just used LSU for leverage with FSU. Come on down Herman

If Texas wanted Herman so bad why wouldn't they just throw the bank at him now?

Speculation:
They essentially hired tom herman 3 years ago, dont want to make the same "mistake" again.

They are in the midst of a discrimination lawsuit and maybe dont want to dismiss the black head-coach, to hite yhe white head coach. Bonus, herman's oc was named in said lawsuit to prove the discrimination.

They supposedly tried to throw money at saban last year and were rebuked. It isnt as simple as x dollars = y coach.

Well this doesn't feel good. Jimbo was our first choice and that's seemingly gone south and we're on to Herman who reportedly wasn't being considered a few days ago.

If Herman is out were on to the likes of Fedora and Gundy. Yuck.

Jimbo to Texas makes a lot more sense for both sides quite frankly. They want someone with a NC pedigree after taking a huge risk, well Jimbo's the safest coach they can hire, by far.

In every leak, from start to finish, Herman has been mentioned.

Whatever other names got mentioned, Herman was always in the mix.

So LSU gets Herman and we still get to laugh at the FSU fans who have an absurdly overblown impression of themselves?

Win/win! I'll take it!

Don't ban yourself. If you're passing along information that you've heard, then that's all we can ask for.

No reason for LSU to go up in price for Jimbo. Looks like he wants a bidding war and I assume FSU will not let this happen to them every year. He's either leaving or staying after his last game no matter what.

If he's coming here, I think the numbers we've heard are more than enough for any coach not named Saban, Harbaugh, or Meyer. I'm on the Herman bandwagon.

I'm sticking with my intel that called Jimbaw every step of the way last season and still say it's Jimbaw. As of yesterday he wants the job, just sorting out details.

Maybe the details were too much to iron out, but LSU wouldn't just walk away from Jimbaw, unless we knew for a fact Herman is on board

my thoughts too. we would definitely "overpay" for jimbo if we didn't think we could get herman. if both fall through, i would hope to see gundy, macintyre or harsin over fedora.

First let me say that I don't have any sources. What are the odds that it is someone completely off of everyone's radar? What if Jimbo and Herman are both smoke screens?

Yeah, I actually like Alleva, but he'd immediately lose my support if he walked away from an elite coach who wants to be at LSU, at the prospect of maybe getting Herman.

It should be as simple as "What would it take for you to come to LSU". You meet those demands, and he's in Baton Rouge on Sunday. Period.
