Time to seriously discuss the candidates at this point.

He probably already took the USC job

Yep. He has lost the team. No turning back at this point. I, for one, welcome our new Jimbo overlord.

I've never been a major Les hater but he just can't come back. 10 years is a long time.
It's time to move on.

Here's my unrealistic choice.
Bill O'Brien: 46 years old. He had success in college at Penn State where he had competent QB play in some of the toughest circumstances imaginable. Belichick protege'. Terrible QB situation at his current job and there are rumblings that he may jump back to college. If he is choosing between LSU and Maryland to make the jump back, the choice should be easy.

Well who do you want and why do you say frick that?

He was at Penn St too short a time to draw any definitive conclusions. He did ok in a terrible situation. He's been bad to mediocre at Houston.
You go big first. Chip, Jimbo, etc. if that doesn't work you look at very successful innovative mid major guys.

Chip Kelly is on my list too. Pass on Jimbo. I think he got lucky with Jameis being Jameis and Bama being down.
You have to get someone in their 40s otherwise. Power 5 or NFL head coaching experience.
Either you get a pro style offensive minded coach. Or you get a defensive minded coach. Kelly notwithstanding.

Gruden's been out of coaching too long.

The vast majority of La High Schools run the spread. The players we recruit run it.
We need a spread guy.
