Is there any traction to the Briles move?

Been out for a bit but been seeing this board flooded with Briles threads, is he in serious consideration for the OC job? (I hope)

My sources tell me he is very interested in boarding the O-train. That's all I know.

We need some sauces.

I literally cannot imagine an actual, available, hireable OC that would be a better choice right now - at this moment, than Briles.

If Briles has a 3 year contract (and keeps it) and Aranda has a 3 year contract (and keeps it), it is fricking ON like Donkey Kong.

NO NO NO to both Briles and Kiffin. Why are we looking at coaches with these kind of character flaws? There are other offensive coordinators out there who will NOT bring in excessive baggage.

If kiffin and briles are in the top 5, O has lost his damn mind, and if Alleva signed off on that shite frick him too. So many coordinators to grab that don't have their baggage. Also, didn't O say in his presser he wanted to run a modern pro style offense?

He said he wanted to run the spread. Briles is the best spread coach in the game right now. Baggage or not the guy can run an offense.

Because we just hired Ed fricking Orgeron to be the head coach. That's why.

Saban brought in Kiffin and Sarkisian, both questionable character guys. Commitment to excellence above all else

frick it, I say go get Briles

Briles is in a wait and see as to what Cincy might do?

He said both actually. His last idea was spread. I guess he needed that to help him get the job so narrative changed.

quote:

When he became LSU’s interim head coach, he endorsed a pro-style offense that was similar to what was run at USC under Pete Carroll, sort of a West Coast-style offense that leaned on talented running backs like Reggie Bush and LenDale White and accurate, but not necessarily strong-armed, passers like Matt Leinart and Mark Sanchez.

But Saturday, Orgeron seemed to do an about-face on that.

“I do believe that nowadays, you have to run the spread offense,” Orgeron said. “You have to have dual-threat quarterbacks that can run the ball and throw it. You have to have somebody who knows how to run it.”

Also, downvote all you want TD, but my statement is true. O can find other coordinators without the baggage. It amazes me how many of you ignore rape/sanctions to win a football game. Pretty sad.

There's they key difference. Saban watches them like a hawk. O wouldn't be able to keep kiffin out of trouble, and briles is just walking toxic waste.
