He is our lowest paid coach and coaches TE and recruits North Louisiana. I have suspected he has been on a short leash for some time now and losing Davis might be it....

He was an overrated QB for LSU, now he is an overrated coach for LSU. Why does this surprise anyone? Maybe Woodley is available.

You gotta figure we need to make a move. It's time to double down and get off our rear ends. Henry is the first step.

There is still a piece we need, an excellent coach and recruiter. We need to increase the recruiting budget and start making calls on 2013 TOMORROW.

Who overrates him? Everyone thinks he sucks.

I guess in that sense, he is overrated, because he's not nearly as bad as people make him out to be.

Ensminge does a lot for this that many fans don't see. He helps with QBs and OL during games and helps with gameplanning.

He also is a better recruiter than people give him credit for according to Ponamsky. He gets hated on because he's listed as a TE coach and fans can't see the impact he makes, but he has tons of SEC and big time college experience. he's more valuable than people give him credit for.

And we lost Davis because of his coach, Holmes. Miles had an in home visit with him last week after he cancelled Mack Brown's in home and everything was fine after that. There was a big smokescreen put up by Holmes to get him to Texas. You can't put the blame on Ensminger for that.

Ponamsky constantly makes excuses, it gets annoying. He hasn't pulled one fricking recruit in his time here, yet he's better than we give him credit for ? Shut up Derek ...DP has also been a JJ proponent, he's a coaching staff mouthpiece

Oh Steve helps with the OL and QBs? Great because it's not like we already have coaches on staff there...

ensminger was on of tubby's bbq boys that was maxing and relaxing his last few years at AU. sounds like he's already decided to take it easy in BR.

They are in the booth during games. You guys can continue to bitch about Ensminger, but he isn't going anywhere.

He does things for this coaching staff that fans will never see and people will always want him gone. So keep bitching if it makes you happy.

I don't think it's too much to ask to expect a college to be able to coach and recruit. Especially a fricking TE coach. Do you realize on the offensive side of the ball we have 1 maybe 2 active recruiters? That is fricking pathetic and this class shows that

What's changed from this staff to last year that our recruiters have turned to shite? I agree this class has been somewhat disappointing. We'll see what Henry can bring to this staff next year.

I just think the amount of hate that gets taken out on Ensminger is getting a little absurd. He's actually brought in a few Lousiana kids and helped bring in Liggins with Kragthorpe. There's no way I can blame Ensminger for getting a commitment last year on signing day and having him flip a year later.

The kid cancelled an in home visit with Texas and by all accounts Miles had him wrapped up. What could have Ensminger done different in his recruitment?

Ensminger is a better coach than he gets credit for and has more impact on this team than just at TEs.

Maybe. I'm not knighting for Stevie, because I think we could upgrade.

But he does take a lot of heat.

Way I understand it...he can still be involved heavily with the team in admin duties...

Don't understand what the problem is there.

Les has to realize the momentum he has been losing in recruiting lately. Don't let the blinders stay on looking at last year's class. He still lost a few top recruits in LA for example that LSU deeply wanted. It has been getting worse the past three years. He has to see a hole in recruiting somewhere...even if we're doing ok. Half the battle is staying elite in recruiting. Other is coaching on the field...

If it was just one or the other, Arkansas would've already won a NC under Petrino.

Ensminger was not an original bbq boy (those came over from Ole Miss). He was added in 2003 to call plays and be co-oc with Hugh Nall; it was an abject failure.

Nice guy. Once gave me a $30 tip for getting his brakes done in less than 45 minutes. But he is not a very good coach.

Best case scenario, IMO. Keeps him employed, his family stable, etc. But allows us to bring in someone fresh (Henson, or even Brewster if possible).
