List the QBs Jimbo has coached starting with his time at LSU and compare them to these guys:

Hatch
Jefferson
Lee
Mett
Jennings
Harris

Because he'll be light years better offensively.

I would rather Kelly or Herman, but still a huge upgrade over Miles.

one has proven to be the best developer of QBs in the country.....and the other has proven to be among the worst.

No, he's just better.

What he inherited from Bowden is a helluva lot less than what miles inherited.

And Jimbo helped Saban build LSU to where it was. Don't forget about that.

he's an upgrade but playing and beating ACC teams has also bolstered his stock a ton.

but doesn't it seem like a fit cause he's an "LSU guy"...? His familiarity with our school, relationships here, fan base, SEC, and region trumps all "similar caliber coaches" across country imo.

it's a flip of a coin on better.

Different is the key. 11 years at LSU is the longest tenure football wise since the 70's. Think about that.

Not just among, he is the worst. Has yet to develop a QB he recruited from high school. He has been here 11 years!!!

He's an upgrade. No flip of the coin or anything else.

Check out his bio while he was at LSU. His one year OC at Cincinnati and his QB coaching at Auburn. Check out his defenses. I'm pretty sure he plays against just as good offenses as LSU does.

Prior to TAMU and Mizzu coming here, the SEC was never known for offense. Hell, we still aren't.

really? you know this how Nostradamus? I don't need to check out any bio, I was there while Jimbo was as well. You have no way of knowing if it's a upgrade or not. Stop taking that view because it's what you want. I'm being realistic. No one has any idea if any new coach will be a upgrade. It's not a shot at Jimbo.

He is different. Perception is reality. Offense will look better. If he hires a proven DC and lets him do that, then we should be fine. ST coach is a must as well. I would like to see Coach O promoted to DC. Wilson promoted to OC. I would hate to lose Raymond but am torn if he is a good coach or not. I know he can recruit. Cooper was the opposite.

I like Grimes but the jury is still out on him. The other guys I have no idea. Tony Ball's first year. Emsfinger has been here a while, but don't know much about how he has done. Cam contract runs out.

Better than Miles before or after 2011?
Before ? No. The SEC is too ultra-competitive to average 11 games a season.
After 2011? Easily. We have been barely mediocre and are now an auto-win for Arkansas. He can do better than 9 wins a season.

If Jimbo is the guy, I can't see him keeping anyone besides Orgeron or Wilson, if even those two. I would think he would want to surround himself with the coaches he's hired, worked with, and trusted. I do think, however, he would see the advantages of keeping Oregeron and/or Wilson on staff for recruiting Louisiana.
