Down and Dirty Update; Does Jurich have his man?

Unless something falls off the track InsideTheVille.com expects Bobby Petrino to be named the next football coach at Louisville.

Hearing there will be a sizable buyout clause in Petino's contract at Louisville.

Michigan State DC Pat Narduzzi interviewed this morning and was a finalist for job, as we've previously reported.

Petrino, per sources, interviewed with Tom Jurich today.

I'd expect announcement in the next 24 hours, perhaps as soon as tonight. We're fully expecting the new football coach in attendance at Thursday's basketball game. We're fully expecting Bobby Petrino to be that guy.

Stay tuned.

Would not only keep them from falling off the cliff ala Kragthorpe but they wouldn't miss a beat. If he bolts for a better gig however, they should beat him to death with Maglites.

Nice hire for Louisville.

I think WKU hires Jeff Brohm for anyone that cares.

Considering they had fans calling for Urban Meyer on the news tonight it's probably best case scenario.

Louisville will regret this in a few seasons.

Left a note in locker for his players in ATL, lied to his AD at UPig, illegally hired another man's woman while shoplifting the pootie from a subordinate, and left the current school he coaches once before. Opposing coaches should be able to sow the seeds of doubt in his recruits and their parents. Great coach though.

And yes, their already sub par recruiting probably won't improve.

Seems pretty fitting for Louisville fans and media to chastise Strong for his lack of loyalty and then hire Petrino.

This was a foregone conclusion to me when UK didn't hire him last year. Barnhart better hope Stoops turns into as good a coach as he is a recruiter.

Its the right move, for both parties. We need someone who can come in and win immediately especially since we are heading into the ACC. We have FSU, Clemson and Notre Dame on the schedule next season. Will we beat those schools? Probably not all three but Petrino gives us the best chance. We cannot afford to take a risk and hire a coordinator and lose momentum Strong has built.

There will be media backlash, but its the right hire.
