This part is not correct- you have some truth in the rest of the statement

Apology accepted-

The correction for above is --higher ups stepped in to do damage control after our AD had created a disaster.

Alleva should have never went for Jimbo without a plan B- He simply had nothing to negotiate with.

A good negotiator would have told Sexton - we want Jimbo but we have a strong candidate for number two and will go in that direction without hesitation.

You never negotiate from a point of weakness. Having only play A was so obvious.

More likely scenario, and I said this when the Hayride article came out.

So, does this mean Ann-Margret is not coming?

As you can see by all the posts, your sincerity is appreciated. Now, please don't be like BelowPar and take your ball and go home because a few people gave you a hard time.

If you hear anything about an OC or Special Teams Coach, let us know. It will be just between you and the Coaching Changes Board.

We offered a million more than he was making

And I think telling your #1 guy ..."you're it" we don't have a 2nd option, we don't want a 2nd option...

Is a strong negotiation stand point

It's my understanding that Jimbo expressed interest in LSU first...

at the end of the day, It can't be all about the money...

one day, there will be a serious correction in these crazy salaries

From what I was told, Fisher's final number was 7 million per year with some serious bonuses and guarantees. That's a pretty steep number for an ACC coach. I can understand why they balked.

What did they think the numbers would be? Bonuses are usually based on performance, which is understandable for him to negotiate. What a terrible job by the AD and the higher ups through that process. Someone should be fired even if it's the secretary.

Isn't that because the negotiation took the price higher than was expected late last week?

I said Jimbo was in and we'd land him. And I was only half right. And that's not good enough. Jimbo WAS in and ready. LSU higher ups got cold feet at the very last minute...and called the deal off. The price tag was too high when it came down to it. I'll admit tho, I claimed he'd be the guy in 16 and I was wrong. If you think, however, that I was trolling the whole time and Jimbo was never in play...then you are sorely mistaken. I apologize tho for the outcome. I still stand by my ppl and their information. I deserve the ridicule I have received and will continue to receive. Hopefully no hard feelings. I promise I was as shocked as anyone about how it went down.

Not your fault the idiots at LSU pulled the plug. Everything I have heard confirms everything you said. Thanks for keeping us in the loop!!

Random, you're good in my book. Obviously no one saw it ending like it did and everyone is still trying to grasp at ideas to attempt to make this cluster frick make sense. I'm thankful no one knew it would happen the way it did before hand bc it would have been a long week watching this train wreck unfold in slow motion. Appreciate your input.

I don't buy it. Almost everyone on this side has stated that Fisher has been interested in coming back to LSU for years. Are you trying to tell me that now that Fisher has his chance, he's going to let Sexton keep jacking up the price because "he's the only candidate" to where it finally got to a point where LSU pulled the plug? If that was the case Sexton would have been fired by Fisher yesterday.
