For those that keep saying Austin>Tuscaloosa, Austin, using your same criteria would be nicer than any SEC city. Austin is nice but how often do you think Saban is going to be out and about in Austin hanging with all the hippies?

Yall are really underselling Tuscaloosa too and yall know it.

Can this seriously be disputed? I mean, most SEC cities would be dumps in the middle of nowhere, except that they happen to have a college in them. Baton Rouge is about the most "cosmopolitan" location of any of the SEC schools, and that's saying something.

Right, because Austin is 100% hippy. You make a good point despite yourself though, which is that Saban (or any coach) isn't exactly going to be hanging out on the town and socializing; they barely leave the AD complex for 10 months of the year. So location probably matters less to them than to most people.
