Then it's obvious we need to look elsewhere.

Penalties, poor preparation etc...

i agree... these 35 point wins are getting stale...

and fwiw, i'm all for getting Fisher if O can't cut it... but if O wins 4 of the next 5, i don't see us letting him go.... O as HC, hire a great OC, and keep Aranad as DC... yeah, i'd be down for that...

I guess you didn't watch Houston or fsu today. Not exactly clean football.

I hope it doesn't come down to that, but if it happened, I wonder how much o would make as the hc? I would think he would get around 3 million, and be given 1 to 1.5 to hire an oc.

And when Lane or Dave A get HC gigs, you're back to the Miles era, being only as good as your OC and DC..

Where as when a Saban, Meyer, Dabo, Stoops, Jimbo, Herman, etc..you have the defacto OC or DC depending upon their area of expertise, secured at all times.

The HCs that play for and win natty titles over the last 20 years aren't usually GMs..they're mostly defacto OCs(sans Saban)..and older era Mack Brown past his 1980-1990s prime in 2005.

I like O, want him to have fair shot if goes unbeaten or 1 L, and retained as Recruiting Coordinator and DL next year, but am still preferring a standing proven HC.

so do i... like i said, i'm more or less hoping for Fisher, but i'm also in the wait and see camp as well...

the one thing that O has over EVERY single other coach, including even Saban, is that no one would care or put their heart and soul into coaching LSU like O would... that's not reason alone to give him the HC gig, but it's something you do have to consider a little....

with Fisher's ability to develop QB's, and with LSU's/Louisiana's WR and RB talent, our offense would be a force...

O is the man. He has the right mentality, needs to get a good OC. At end it is all about talent and O is a good recruiter. How do you think Saban wins? He wins before the season starts by recruiting the #1 class year after year. There is no other team that has that kind of talent.

This guy gets it.

The best coaches are not CEO types anymore. Look around.

It's too difficult to get and keep 2 elite coordinators. Nearly impossible actually.

LSU can get top coordinators very easy. Les chose not to when he promoted from within for his buddy and then brought in a failed buddy to oc.
