If it is Kiffin for OC, do they have to wait until Alabama's season is over to get him or could he come after the SEC Championship?

An announcement could come any time I guess. He is under contract until February though, and I don't see why he would leave during an undefeated playoff run

I don't know if I'd want a guy who would leave during a playoff run either as that is something we are striving for, and that type of run would likely lead to ADs calling him for a HC gig.

He'd wait, but probably have a press conference and contact recruits outside of dead periods.

The Kirby Smart hiring broke before the playoffs right? I feel like it's got to be Kiffin at this point or there would be some communication. I'm guessing Kiffin is asking we keep it quiet until after this weekend.

Difference being it was for a HC position, if that is a difference worth noting.

Assuming Kiffin would follow recruiting rules with O at the helm is only gonna make you sad down the road. Expect dirty recruiting and/or sanctions with those two together.

Things like this will not wait. After the SECCG he will get his offers for HC/OC jobs. By the time Bama is through playing the top jobs will likely be filled.

If he entertains a new job and accepts it is up to Saban to allow him to stay on or not. It could be conditional on the offer to come now due to recruiting concerns but I doubt it.

In 2007 Bo Pellini accepted the Nebraska job prior to NC game and stayed until the end. Nebraska allowed him to delay but that was only until like Jan 2nd or 3rd... Todays playoffs go to around the 12th or so.

If Kiffin is leaving best case for Alabam is him going to LSU or somewhere as an OC. What we don't want is for him to get a HC job and take Lupoi and Sarkisian as OC with him especially if it is to Oregon as all are west coast guys.

That's bc you are a bama fan. You live in a bubble of delusion; of course you can't see it. It wouldn't be delusion if you could see it.
