I think this is a 3 man race

1. Herman
2. Fisher
If those 2 don't work, then why not O?
Everyone after those 2 have as many ?, baggage, & red flags as O
Many on here aren't on the jimbo bandwagon and I get it. But the ones that jumped off because of the Louisville game are being a lil silly. But if you wanna pull jimbo off, then u say it's Herman or give it to O with the caveat that he has to make a big hire at OC
***im assuming he does something similar to what he did at USC
Just my initial thoughts, I'm open to negotiation lol

Well I mean there's names flying everywhere. And I'm trying to get someone to convince me that this new O is for real. And I'm starting to get sold on the idea of 1. Kiffin as OC and 2. Kiffin leaving bama for a lateral move. Kiffin & Aranda with O managing the details. I still think kiffin gets HC gig though

Kiffin will go for a HC gig, not a lateral move, especially to a rival of the school you're at.........but he's Kiffin.
Jimbo and Herman seem to be the consensus 1a and 1b (you pick which one is which).

And, IF it comes down to O, I hope they pay him less than they would the others and tell him to go get the best OC available (I don't care if it is Kiffin, Applewhite, whoever) and pay THAT guy more than "market" if needed to get him here.

Petrino would never be allowed to be hired. He's hated by the $ men. But even if that wasn't the case, he's old & has a $10mil buyout

If the right HC gig isn't available, which is highly possible(don't see the top 4-5 programs in each P5 really wanting to find out if he's matured), I could absolutely see kiffin making the move. He kinda owes O for one, they're boys & I can see him being ready to get away from beratings by Saban. But that's a perfect storm scenario

No it's not a 3 man race and it shouldn't be. That's not how this works at all.

I don't know:
- I'm not sure Coach O can run this ship, towards whatever success this year, and then allow Kiffin to come in and takeover as HC. It might be an insult to O to demote him and give the keys to Kiffin.
- And I don't know if Kiffin, after having been the HC at Tennessee and having Coach O work under him, would take a lateral move over to LSU as OC, reporting to O.
I think Kiffin would take an HC elsewhere for the above reasons.

I think Herman and Jimbo are the 2 front runners. However after those two there will be plenty of other names that will come out of the woodwork that would all be good choices. Coach O would be a good choice but not a great choice. So would the 10 or so other guys that will be brought into the mix. No rock will be left unturned if Herman or Jimbo end up out of the mix.
