Excellent QB coach and great recruiter. You'd compete with Saban for the number one class every year and have great QB play. Keep a good DC like Aranda around and you're set.

Kiffin has been an utter and complete failure at every single head coaching job he's ever held, and most of them were at big time programs. Contrary to what people apparently think, being an OC and a head coach are two completely different things, and he just doesn't have the "it factor" as a head coach. He's garbage and would run LSU into the ground just like Tennessee, USC, Oakland, etc

People don't realize that Kiffin is Sabans bit-ch. He only runs plays he's approved. You've seen what Saban can do to Kiffin, when he doesn't follow his game plan.

He's a great recruiter and developer of QBs but he's way too much of a distraction off the field.
Les Miles was frustrating on game day and needed to go, but you won't find a better representative for your program off the field like him. I will always miss that about Les.

It s amazing to me that taking a Tennessee team from 5-7 to 7-6 in his first year . Guiding USC during probation and fielding a team one year with 55 scholarship players. And ending up 28-15 over his time there is considered a failure. His experience dwarfs TH
His win percentage in college is 62 percent.( with handicaps above ) sabans win percentage prior to LSU. ? 62%
His pro experience is a positive that he had it. How he did. ? For Petes sake he was with the worst franchise and was 31.

Oh, I'm sure in critical situations he's calling plays. And he most definitely is providing direction with such things as "I want to attack the DBs, make it happen" or "their DL is tired and LBs can't shed blocks, pound it this entire drive". But no, Kiffin is the middle man that makes his offensive engine go. Not to mention you can see all the hallmarks of his offenses and advice on Bama's last couple, and current, offense.

Also people like to focus on the chewouts he gets from Saban, but he's had to have learned some stuff on how to run a program. I'm OK with taking the risk on him.
