People are pissed off because the only reason Orgeron apparently got the job was because of his promise to bring in the best OC in the country.

People all thought Kiffin would be a shoe-in because they are pals and Kiffin was on the outs with Bama.

Now we are back to the drawing board and our administration has proven to be elite levels of incompetent when it comes to hiring coaches.

Damn man.. it's only been 2 days since the championship games were played. Do we know for sure that we aren't going to hire one of the best?

Well, we hired Ed Orgeron to be our head coach, so I'm not really confident we hire anyone even good at this point.

let's see a what OC he hires and a product on the field before we deem all of this a failure.

I understand your feelings..

But let's see who he gets first. I'm not overly optimistic, but I'm holding out hope that the high price tag we can offer will prove too hard to turn down

O is a failure. He is 21-29.

What we have to wait and see is if he's actually a good head coach. He's starting from the bottom, not the top.

If O promised to bring Kiffin/retain Aranda and THAT'S why he was hired, then that's a huge problem.

That's my problem with this as well. O wasn't hired for his expertise on either side of the ball. He sold this idea on who he was going to hire. Thing is these things don't just fall perfectly into place.

Saban comes to interview for your program, he doesn't have to sell you on assistants he's going to hire. If he wants to bring on Alvin and the Chipmunks you're still going to hire him. Same with Meyer, same with Harbaugh. You want a fricking coach that will install HIS system and isn't at the whim of the coaching carousel. Those critical of O foresaw this the entire time and this is what's going to come to bear.

Winning in CFB is hard enough and you just make it harder on yourself when you have to rely on a series of events aligning in regards to assistant coaches, whereas if you hire the right coach assistants don't figure into the equation as prominently.

The fact that he is involved with any HC jobs says we need to move on asap. If he doesn't get one this year, he'll still be a top contender for one next year.

First offer he gets, he's gone. Let's move on now.

Kiffin is a P.O.S! He's like Scott Angelle, politician....keeps running for different government positions until he hopefully lands one.... Kiffin = job jumper......

Well by Alleva's standards, Kiffin is off the table regardless if he gets the UH job. Joe only wants people who want to be here with no negotiations.
