No, he had a win over top 5 Oklahoma State in Stillwater.
Sumlin, for the record, was 11-1 in 2011. He didn't coach the bowl.
He may not have lost to Navy or SMU, but he went 2-2 vs. Rice.

Herman isn't an Air Raid guy and wants a strong defense to go with a power spread offense.
Sumlin is Air Raid and relied on Holgorsen/kingsbury to be successful and his defenses suck.
O has a record as a SEC HC and it's awful.

Pete Carroll and Bill Belichik had awful records as NFL coaches, both even got fired. In no way saying O is either of those guys, but people can learn and mature as coaches.
