i see a lot of people not wanting Herman because he isnt the proven one and has no national championships blah blah blah
not many want to hear that LSU hired Saban with no National or Conference titles as a coach period other than a tie when he was at Toledo for conference.
lets look at Herman through his coaching career
Sam Houston - WR Coach - multiple all conference receivers. - offense was ranked second nationally in passing offense, averaging 358.5 yards, while the Bearkats' 471 yards of total offense ranked fifth among Division I-AA schools
Texas State - OC - During his two seasons at Texas State his squads led the Southland Conference in total offense and the 2005 team ranked eighth nationally in scoring
Rice - Herman’s offense smashed nearly 40 offensive records during his first season as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach - Rice ranked in the Top 10 nationally in 2008 in passing offense (5th; 327.8), scoring offense (T8th; 41.6) and total offense (10th; 472.3). Two Rice receivers had more than 1,300 yards receiving that year, tight end James Casey had 111 catches and quarterback Chase Clement was the Conference USA MVP
Iowa State - During his three seasons at Iowa State, the offense improved considerably and broke numerous team and player school records
QB - 8,044 yards of total offense is the second-best total in school history
RB - Iowa State career as the Cyclones' fourth all-time leading rusher with 3,309 yards
Ohio State - We alll know what he did there with a third string qb in the playoffs..... National Title
And everyone is seeing his success at Houston...The guy has been successful with his offense every where he has been i dont see what the issue is here....
LSU has one issue and its been the issue for the past 9 years.......OFFENSE...Hell our defense is fixing to break records with an Interim HC...we need a high power offense to utilize our talent we have on offense and develop QBs and as you can see he is the man that can do it and will do it for a long time...
Sure Hire Jimbo....you will get a few good years maybe but i still think he doesnt beat Saban with his offense...

I think Herman is the next generation Saban/Urban. Smart and detail oriented, successful everywhere he goes.
i wont complain about Fisher, he'd be a great hire and i think would do as well here as he's done at FSU. But Herman has unlimited potential with Aranda, our athletes and recruiting base.
Maybe its smarter to go with the safer hire in Jimbo, but id take the gamble on Herman. or just offer both and keep bumping up the $ until one of them signs.

Florida State has averaged over 30 points per game every year since 2008 and over 50 points per game in 2013.
He has had 3 QBs drafted in the first round in that time, 2 of which he made so successful in college he tricked the NFL into drafting them that high and they ended up sucking.
So he's shown he scores a ton of points. He's shown to be an ELITE QB developer even with average talent.
He's also shown to be an ELITE recruiter.
He's also shown to win titles.
He's also shown he knows how to handle the spotlight and pressure of a major program.
ETA:
I would love Herman, but Jimbo is an excellent coach too and has shown to be one of the absolute best on the offensive side of the ball.

I agree with you...you bring up very argumentive numbers but i jus think jimbo would lead to what he is doing now at a very talented program...either are great...i think you will have a homerun hire with Jimbo and and grandslam hire with herman but there again its jus an opinion. But yes either i think is an improvement
