This is concerning how long its taking. Do they not have fax machines anywhere on the recruiting trail? You know Texas is his phone and texting non=stop.

Just sign and be done with the dramatics.

Why do people still hold up fax machines as the best way to execute a fricking contract?

Because it still is or you can sign it and scan it. I just did one by signing and scanning after I got it Notarized. I sent via email and then sent the Original via FedEx.

The man is currently under a three year contract. Let the man do his job and let the lawyers do theirs.

Email or just using electronic signatures is much more convenient.

Of course NSD is still stuck in the 90's also.

If you're him and staying at LSU, what's the rush. He's under contract, has a new one sitting on his desk, and he'll sign it when he gets back. Why should he go out of his way because some people on TigerDroppings are freaking out.

Welcome to 1990. Contracts aren't done by fax machine anymore...except the NCAA LOI for some crazy reason.

Same concern here. I was beginning to think about who LSU should go after as the next DC myself.I understand there could be a very good reason why he has not signed other than waiting on Texas but I am not smart enough to know what it is.

Saban had his chance - so how about Pruitt and Kiffin.

You do realize that he is still signed with LSU currently for another 2 years. The new deal just gives him a raise and promotion, he'll sign it when he is available to. This isn't the same as the HC search where we didn't have the person already signed.

If you aren't going to trust that Aranda is going to stay true to the his word and the contract already in place, then him signing this new one won't give you any peace, because what's to stop Texas from offering twice that amount once he signs the new one.

Reality is, he's on the recruiting trail trying to build a good defense at LSU. If he wasn't planning on being here, then he would be pulling a Chief and staying in his office all the time.

He knows that he doesn't even have to say a word and just wait a couple of days. Alleva will probably panic and throw some more money at him.

A year ago, Aranda was making $500,000 and living in Wisconsin. Today he's making $1.2 million. When he signs his extension, he'll be making God knows what.

If I'm Dave Aranda, I'm thinking 2016 was a pretty good year. Hopefully his wife and children like it here.

No, but, Joe Alleva shook his hand on the deal, so, it's a lock. No need for concern.

He signed the wrong lines on the initial contract, they're sending him a new one, but that has to be approved by lawyers a second time.

Maybe, but a somewhat similar situation happened at Alabama 15 years ago. I have relatives in Tuscaloosa who were close personal friends with Dennis Franchione when he was head coach at Bama. Coach Fran and Alabama had agreed to an extension and a big raise and the contract was all ready for him to sign. But days and weeks kept going and he didn't sign and people started to wonder why. Well, he was waiting on the A&M job to open up, which it did, and he left.

So sometimes a delay in signing a contract where the terms have been agreed to can be a sign of trouble. Probably not in Aranda's case, but still.

Are we really comparing Franchione to Aranda regarding keeping his word? Everything Aranda has ever done has been very forthcoming and straight up. You people worry too much.

Normally you would be 100% correct. But these aren't normal times. Everyone knows the importance of Aranda to LSU and it is definitely no secret about Herman & Aranda's relationship and the fact that Texas & Herman are looking for a DC right now and also that UT can pay whatever we pay Aranda and let's be frank even more if they want to.

So until he signs the new contract, or until Texas announces the hiring of a DC, then there is a reason to be concerned!

That is the part that gives me comfort that he is staying because he does seem like an old school guy and will stay true to his word.

that is true, but signing a new contract I would think tells most people he is happy where he is for now and the reality is it probably makes it a little more economically more difficult to hire away which should deter people from trying including Texas.
