My most trusted source of information by far.

Did he even link another source or it's all him on twitter?

Chris Balas works for the Wolverine. They are like a sports magazine specifically about michigan sports.. he is about as reliable concerning things michigan related as you are going to get.

Now I wonder where someone would get that information, perhaps Harbaugh's agent or assistants on the team or perhaps Jamie Morris or other people on the search committee.. people that Balas talks to literally every day I would guess.

This is BS. I think he does not understand the difference between Released and Fired.

Looks like he made these rumors to michigan so they'd fire him and he'd be able to go wherever he wanted to.

Why would the 49ers make this easy on Harbaugh?

Why wouldn't they drag this on through January to force Harbaugh's hand rather than fire him and thus having to pay him the rest of his salary?

49ers hate him. do not want to see him hang around.

jh want to get out.

49ers wont gain much by trading. also they would rather see him in college instead of nfl. the longer the raiders sucks, the better since they are in the same market.

So release him is the better option. Otherwise he may show up every day and collect the pay. jh does not need to find the next job. he can rest for 1 year.

I haven't read much of the Harbaugh stuff but seeing what Michigan fans are basing their beliefs on, it looks like they aren't getting Harbaugh.

If they fire or release him he has no contractual obligations. He can sign anywhere right away.

Yeah.

1. JH will not be released unless he agrees some conditions. You can guess some of the conditions will be:

1). No other NFL team.
2). 49ers will not pay $5M, the next year salary.

2. Otherwise, 49ers can hold him until Michigan offer expired (around Jan. 1st). No other NFL team is going to pay JH $8M since the Michigan offer will be off table. JH lose the big pay day.
In this scenario the best case for 49ers is pay him $5M and hold him for 1 year.

3. If 49ers fire him after the last game, JH can take any job. 49ers still need to pay him $5M. This is the worst. JH can work for any NFL team including Raiders. 49ers gain nothing. choice 2 is better than this.

The 2, 3 also will damage the 49ers reputation. You screw the agents, coaches, the school this time without any personal gain, they will screw 49ers down the road.

In summary, the signed and released is the best option for 49ers.

The reasons 'the trade JH for picks' is not going to work are:

1). If a NFL team has not fired their coach yet, they need to fire their coach now and start work on the trade.

2). Raiders can work on the trade since they fired their coach already.

3). 49ers does not want to trade JH to Raiders because they are in the same market unless Raiders give up high picks.

4). NFL team will not give 49er high picks because they know 49ers do not want JH around.

5). To hire JH, after you fire your coach, you need to interview Black coach first. Black coaches know the reason you fire your coach before Black Monday, they may not bother to interview.

6). Not many teams want to pay the coach $8M per year.

7). If trade is done after Michigan offer expired (Jan 1), JH lose leverage and may block any trade. So you will have very short time to work on the trade.

8). If you are a GM and you try your best to make the trade work, due to the limit time and JH can block the trade, the chance you succeed is very small. You may get fired because of this. So why do you want to do sth that will risk your job? A better approach is tell your owner, 'IT IS TOO LATE!'

who really thinks it's about money with Jim H.? The guy is loaded. He played in the n.f.l., made tons of money. He's made tons more coaching. I don't think a deal of 8 mil or 5 mil is going to sway him either way. It's going to be about what he wants to do, not money. He's is LOADED.
