I'd rather have Sumlin than Fedora. I actually think Sumlin is a pretty good coach. The West is just a motherfricker right now. They haven't taken that next step yet, but they've been pretty goo do every year. I can certainly understand not wanting to accept 8-5 every year, but it could be worse. It could be way worse. I think I'd keep him as long as they are recruiting well.

They are 6-12 vs the SEC West the last 3 years with top 20 recruiting classes the last 5 years, and half of those wins are against Arkansas. Zero wins against LSU/Bama/OlePiss last 3 years.

8-4 every year just isn't acceptable when you're paying your coach that much and you consistently have nice recruiting classes.
They've lost 4 games every year since their first year in the league. They've somehow managed to have an easy as shite SEC east schedule playing USC 3 times, Mizzou 3 times, Vandy twice. Played UF once, and lost, Tennessee once, and barely won in OT, and haven't played UGA, IN 5 YEARS!!!
10 games against the east and only two were against one of the big 3 in UF/UT/UGA. 7-3 against that pansy schedule. only 3 ranked teams, and they lost to two of them, Tenn this past year was the other.
LSU on the other hand played 7 games out of 10 against the big 3 in those 5 years, 6 of the 10 were ranked. 7-3 in those 10 games.

Les Miles was fired for less. Sumlin should be on a very very hot seat this year. I would think it is expected they will lose to Bama and LSU, but if they lose again to Ole Piss, and lose to Auburn or MSU as well as UF, he's going to be gone, probably before the LSU loss, regardless of what he does in the first 5 games.

The home team has never won in the A&M/Auburn series. There's 3 losses.

Sumlin hasn't beaten Ole Miss since Manziel left. There's 4 losses.

A&M won't win in Gainesville. There's 5 losses.

Mississippi State runs the zone read...Chavis' kryptonite. There's 6 losses.

Austin Allen can actually pass the football. There's 7 losses.

Sumlin is starting a true or RS freshman QB not named Manziel at UCLA. There's 8 losses.

Sumlin will be fired no later than the Auburn game.

Fedora hates defense, is an average recruiter, and is a slimy evangelical.

He has only been a HC at southern miss and North Carolina. Hard to be better than an average recruiter at those schools. And I think his "hatred" of defense is overblown. They are getting better on that side of the ball every year.

Sumlin has had a spot on this board for a couple years now. Y'all dumbasses keep him around though.

If we could, we would fire all three regents who approved that POS contract. Two of them have terms expire in February. Wilson just needs to have his brakes cut.

Replace "LSU" with "Alabama" and you're left with Ed Orgeron.

Sumlin has a buyout of 5 million dollars per year.
This should be a lesson to all universities out there. No coach is worth this.

The problem isn't the annual salary, it's the guaranteed contract.

The only reason Kevin Sumlin doesn't have the largest buyout in college football is because he only has 3 years remaining on his contract.

On January 1, 2014, that buyout number was $30 Million.

How do they keep getting away with this? Who they paid to make their SECE schedule?

If Chavis is still around next year (and, let's face it, with that contract he will be), Sumlin may not even make it through the season.

Chavis will be in the last year of his 3 year contract next year. With the Aggies defensive performance this year, it seems very unlikely Chavis gets an extension, meaning 2017 will be his last in Aggieland. Probably Sumlin's' too.

I like Fedora but for whatever reason LSU fans were completely against him.

Are those the same LSU fans who support the O hire because he beat five teams any position coach on the LSU staff could have won?

He probably needs a win against LSU to save his job!

What is Sumlin's record in games starting on Nov. 1?

I am surprised the Aggie alums are not calling for his scalp after this season, allowing the 54 points to LSS & losing to Kansas St. in the bowl game.

You don't get it.

The BIG donors are far more likely to call and bitch out the director of the Aggie Band for 2 ms of a crooked line during the previous week's drill than any of the putrid coaching Kevin Sumlin has put out.

the dumbest part is that all of it, which as of now is 15M, must be fully paid in 60 days.

for a comparison, we have 3 years to pay off Miles, and the number goes down if he takes another job. that cant happen with Sumlin because the odds of him taking another job in 60 days and losing that 15M are slim to none.

but yeah hes done. the buyout drops to 10M next year, and if any 24/7 members can read this, their fans are predicting 6-6 at best next year, but likely 4-8.

which sucks, i wish he'd stay forever. the fricking guy started 6-0 then went 2-5. and this same basic thing happens every year. its so fun seeing the TAM fans think "things are gonna be different this year". then November arrives.

The board is appointed by the Governor. These current regents were appointed by Dumbass Perry. The next regents will be appointed by Greg Abbott, a t-sip. Do you seriously think he's going to appoint members that will IMPROVE our situation?
