Would seem to be a really good candidate. Would be a solid hire for the Jaguars.

But, if the Texans let BOB go and keep Rick Smith,

Would be a huge mistake. Maybe signing a halfway decent QB would have put them in a much better situation.

Last I checked, Bill isn't the one who gave a mega contract to the worst QB in the NFL

For a guy with an offensive background, he's had a pretty lackluster run facing some of the worst competition in the AFC south.

I'm not impressed.... but who are you gonna get that's better?

And what has he had for QBs?

It would take a very long time to win this Houston fan back if they do this

I would be happy to see the Texans go another direction. Obrien isn't bad but isn't good either. Need a nee GM as well.

Young QB in a new system, what could go wrong? In the win now league, if the only thing consistent is turnover, you can't win.

I would much rather see a new GM than coach. If they keep Smith but axe O Brien I won't watch for a while

They won their division and are in the playoffs. It isn't like O'Brien underachieved or anything.

That's my point. Seems like they were expecting to be the Pats with a first year QB. Lots of potential if management will stay out of the way.

The guy is an awful head coach. I will be ecstatic to see Bill O' Brien go.

Me too.

I have to think that McNair is kicking himself for giving Smith an extension to 2020.

I was watching the Texans today thinking O'Brien was supposed to be some big QB guru yet I can't name any decent QB's he developed. As a head coach he has a 58% winning record. He's had the best defense in the AFC south pretty much the whole time...

They need to fire Rick Smith, not Bill OBrien.

Rick Smith is a lot of the problem. I don't understand how he's kept his job so long. Actually, I do, but people will disagree and call me a racist. Bottom line, Texans need to clean house with JJ, Hop, and Clowney being the only untouchables.
