The excitement of last week is rightfully fading because we realize the lack of allevas effort for our programs future. Orgeron was not a smart move

Because

1. Orgeron is our coach.
2. No one picks Va Tech over LSU if they have a choice in the matter.

Why Fuente was not #3 on the list is fricking baffling.

Fwiw. What I was told was that Fuente wouldn't get consideration bc when he interviewed for the OC job under Miles, Miles said he was a bad interview.......

Fuente literally just signed a contract last year. He was not going to leave va tech.

So what??? It's VaTech, who gives a shite. LSU is a far superior program with more resources.

The only concern with Fuente is that he eventually will be the HC at Oklahoma

We should have never let alleva make the hire. We are sunk and many of the less informed fans don't have a clue.

$7mill.

To play with the big boys you have to pay for the big boys.

Do LSU fans just watch games and wonder why LSU didn't hire the coach doing well in that game? What universe do y'all live in?

It's amazing that some of our fan base actually thinks we struck out with all of these coaches. We're top 5 in recruiting every year, we can at the very least double some of their salaries, and we pay over a million dollars to coordinators. They have such a lack of faith in the program. It's just asinine.

We ponied up $10 mil to get rid of Miles, who was "only" a guaranteed 8 to 11 wins every season, and who continually brought in top talent (other than QB).

So with that as precedent, why are we now so worried about pinching pennies?

I'm getting the sense that one of 2 things are happening with the higher powers at LSU:
1) the "midlife crisis": much like an older guy who dumps his aging wife, only to learn the young hotties don't really want him after all, we might regret dumping Miles without having someone lined up
2) there might be a sense that competing costs too much, and we're intentionally downgrading. Spend less, be middle of the pack in conference, still ride the TV gravy train.

Neither sounds very good for the fans.

So we're pussies because we're not happy in the direction our program is going after Alleva settled with a mediocre head coach, and will likely do the same thing with the Offensive Coordinator search too? Go frick yourself you ignorant son of a bitch.

What kind of contract AND buyout does he have? That may have ruled him out as a candidate.

ETA- I see it was answered and a dumbass said to play with the big boys you gotta pay...what an idiot.

That's the way you hire a coach by who wins the game you are watching correct?
